Because we plant and plant, we have hired a new forester and other workers. Forester Pablo D. Ngojo also comes from the Department of Evoironment and Natural Reccources (DENR). The advantage for us is that he was responsible for land surveys with drones during his work on Mount Apo, the highest mountain in the Philippines. We immediately pressed our drone into his hand. Our Monday meeting (see photo), which is always held on the first Monday of the month, sometimes not all foresters are present. From left: Mark Joseph N. Ibabao, our chief forester, has been at Mama Earth for years; behind Pablo D. Ngojo; Ralph Ace S. Gloriane, former forester of DENR and Jolly P. Balili, agroforester from the University of Mindanao. Right: Michelle Centino, accounting, behind Elvera Bautista, coordinator, Simon Hoyle, managing director of the Mama Earth Foundation (CEO) and Ulrich Kronberg, founder of the foundation. There are also 43 employees on the fields and farms
This well-grown Mama Earth mahogany tree has 22 centimeter’s after six years, so it still has to grow 10 centimeters more. That should not be a problem in six years’ time.
This mahogany tree is also owned by Mama Earth and grows in Monkayo. It is 33 years old and has a diameter of 70 centimeters. The model is Evangelyn.
On the left our four foresters and on the right the office crew. Fortunately, our conference table is long enough for additional employees.
Mangroves are true life-creating and effectively provide climate regulation through their storage of CO2.
Simply to build capital: Tree savings contract
Our saving programm is well running. No wonder, because 10 dollars a month is really a good start to grow trees. Imaging what you‘ll do with the money in 12 years. Renovate the house, buy a small piece of land, just make an expensive trip? Maybe you can make a separate contract for each child with 100 or more trees each. For two children, it‘s only 20 dollars a month. Start to make your capital today: info@mama-earth.
Mangroves
This is where progress is made, but we are impatient. More than 212,000 mangroves have already been planted for our „Malizia Mangrove Park“ campaign, with around 788,000 still missing. On January 14, 2021, after a video conference, the Rotary Club in Davao made a donation to us. Mama Earth will skip the two million mark of planted mangroves this year. Inventory January 2021: 1.45 million will grow in the Gulf of Davao and 212,000 in Malizia Mangrove Park. The action does a lot of work, but it is fascinating to see how many helping hands are involved in shaping this project. We have set up our own Facebook page „Malizia Mangrove Park“. Through our regular visits to Mati, Davao Oriental, Mindanao, we are not only up-to-date, we also learn a lot through the scientific support of Dr. Lea and Dr. Glen. The deeper we delve into the knowledge about the importance of mangroves for the climate, the more exciting the connections become. The project also serves the people of and to live with the mangroves. In the meantime, we have created several video clips that we would like to show you.

In March we will expand the mangrove eBooklet with the new information. So the work is no less, but we are happy with our successes thanks to your support.
